Back in July 2014, Apple and IBM partnered to develop enterprise applications running on Apple devices. The aim was to provide IBM customers with the option of choosing fleets of iDevices and running aspects of their businesses with them, using customized applications. This week, Apple and IBM have announced that they’ve expanded this relationship to focus on healthcare applications too. In the existing setup, Apple brought its devices and operating systems to the table, while IBM’s cloud deployments and Watson machine learning AI and analytics platform did most of the behind-the-scenes legwork.
