One of the things we warned about in the run up to the European Commission allowing the merger between Liberty Global and Ziggo in the Netherlands, was that it was setting a precedent that every corner of the European Telecommunications world, would want to emulate. Just a scant month after that decision, the floodgates are open, and the Commission will have a hard time keeping to its stated task of ensuring that sufficient competition continues to exist in cellular, broadband and pay TV.
