Recommendation software firm Iris.TV has secured a major win this week by teaming up with Boston-based video cloud services company Brightcove, to license its Adaptive Stream recommendation technology. Despite its name, Iris.TV doesn’t have any contract wins in the TV space with operators, broadcasters, or OTT services that we know of just yet, but this collaboration with Brightcove, as well as a similar deal with Brightcove rival company Kaltura earlier this month, will give Iris.TV access to a customer base which features some major players. Brightcove has the likes of Turner Broadcasting, Sky Deutschland, Virgin Media Television, Starz Entertainment, Discovery Communications, and Channel 4 using its video technology.
