It’s just as well that Faultline has just completed its series of articles on the future of the set top industry, promising more consolidation, as this week we have two consolidations, a major one in Technicolor buying out Cisco’s set tops, and a second minor one with Amino picking up Entone in the US (see separate story). The price tag for the Technicolor deal is just $600 million, and the entire Connected Devices Division will go for that price, mostly made up of set tops – we assume this also means the cable modem business, but not the CMTS and CCAP business as well, but it’s not entirely clear at this point.
