Microsoft reinforced its ‘cloud first, mobile first’ message at its Windows 10 preview event, bringing all its Windows operating systems under one brand and a common ‘core’. That will mean the end of the Windows Phone name, as the company pushes a single platform across all cloud-attached devices – looking to defend its position in PC (and post-PC) devices while boosting its lamentable presence in mobile products.
