Huawei continues to win scalps with its 5G Advanced strategy under its banner of 5.5G, both at home and abroad. It is pressing hard in non-aligned countries prepared to deploy equipment from any of the world’s leading vendors, with its latest customer being STC Bahrain, a subsidiary of the Saudi Telecom Company. The two have just signed an agreement to co-develop AI-based services centered around 5G Advanced technology. Details are scant, with only anodyne comments from the companies, but with mention of private 5G networks for enterprise customers, as well as RAN optimization.
