Dutch transmission system operator (TSO) Tennet has published an analysis finding that the highly congested Netherlands power network actually has 9.1 GW of available high-voltage grid-connection capacity available – but the catch is that this is only during off-peak hours, utilizable only via time-dependent transmission right (TDTR) contracts which Tennet is planning to introduce. Australia is to host something equally novel – an implementation of Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) charging, courtesy of electricity distributor Essential Energy and national agency CSIRO, as well as Sigenergy and AUSEV.
