Tandem PV’s $50 million Series A fundraiser, announced last week, gives the company enough to work with through to late 2026. It’s enough to order all needed production line equipment, and to then produce and sell a product at the scale needed to demonstrate that tandem perovskites are real, reliable and can even be a better choice than standard silicon PV. Many other perovskite companies haven’t crossed this financial ‘finish line’ yet, despite quite possibly having equally good or at least similar IP. In Tandem PV’s case, that means 28% module efficiency, gunning for 30%, with a module lifespan (buttressed by the conventional reliable silicon layer, but improved on the perovskite layer as well) which no longer undercuts lifetime power…
