Semiconductor vendor Renesas Electronics America has announced the IoT Enablement Kit – a demonstration platform jointly developed in partnership with Arrow Electronics, Bug Labs, and NimbeLink. The group says the kit will help developers create proof of concept and demonstration units for IoT applications – but the group will be hoping that the kit spurs sales of their own products. To that end, the kit has been designed for use with Renesas’ family of RL78 microcontrollers (MCUs), and the company says the RL78 development board will help companies configure applications ranging from network-edge sensors all the way up to enterprise environments.
