One of the things we first mentioned around 2012 was the idea of using LTE as a second broadband connection in the home, to support either DOCSIS or DSL. This was because in a world where your ability to connect to TV, Facebook, your work and the cloud generally was based on the reliability of your broadband line, one connection would never be enough. This week Swisscom has joined the handful of companies which have announced such a product architecture, with a technology it is calling DSL+LTE bonding, which combines the bandwidths of fixed and mobile networks.
