The Trump Administration has halted one of the several major offshore wind projects under development in New York state waters, in a stunningly negative development for the US offshore wind industry. Last Wednesday, U.S. Interior Minister Doug Burgum ordered Equinor, the Norwegian energy giant, to halt its construction of the Empire Wind 1 offshore project, “until further review of information that suggests the Biden administration rushed through its approval without sufficient analysis”.
