Test and measurement specialist Viavi Solutions announced that it was actually getting a piece of Spirent after all. Its £1 billion March 2024 deal for the entirety of Spirent was eventually rejected by Spirent, in favor of a £1.16 billion bid from Viavi-rival Keysight Technologies. In December, Keysight began talking about divestments, and three months later, Spirent’s high-speed ethernet and network security assets are being sold to Viavi for $410 million. The divestment deal is scheduled to close in Q2, just after Keysight’s own acquisition closes.
