M&A & Investments M Group has acquired Telent, in a UK telecoms infrastructure tie-up. No price has been given, but Telent provides operational support to BT and VMO2. Intel has sold a majority stake in its Altera FPGA business to private equity outlet Silver Lake. Intel had previously planned to spin it out and sell a minority stake, but new CEO Lip-Bu Tan is clearly committed to his plan to divest non-core assets. It values Altera at $8.75 billion. Intel bought Altera for $16.7 billion in 2015. Altera posted revenues of $1.54 billion in 2024, and an operating loss of $615 million. Cadence is acquiring Artisan from Arm, for an undisclosed price.
