China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has stated that the country manufactured 110 GWh of energy storage batteries in the four months from January to April this year, with a further 184 GWh of power batteries installed in EVs, and an overall total production of 473 GWh. In the same period, battery exports earned $21.6 billion, up 25% year on year. Anode materials production came to 1.15 million tons, cathode to 760,000 tons, separator production came to 8 billion square meters, and electrolyte production came to 470,000 tons, all up 40% year-on-year.
